“Ground control to Major Tom…Take your protein pills and put your helmet on” I sang to my 4 year-old as he boarded his Jr. Space Explorer Inflatable Shuttle. This is our first summer with a pool so during the recent heat wave my son pretended we were on outer space missions while he floated around the pool aboard his space shuttle, feet dangling in the cool water. He often tells me that he wants to be an Astronaut when he grows up, so I knew he’d be entertained for hours with this floating ride-on for the pool. The genuine looking instrument panel adds to his imaginative play. And while he’s in school my toddler loves climbing aboard while on dry land in the backyard, or in our den (with mommy’s help and supervision of course).
Aeromax Toys has also incorporated the technology of QR codes to help their little space explorers go on a space adventure! When kids or parents scan the strategically located, graphically enhanced QR codes using a smart phone or tablet they can see actual video footage of a shuttle launch and receive a history lesson about space travel. I’m happy because my son’s interest in space actually helps him to be a better student at school. I tell him that the first thing he needs to do to become an Astronaut is to do well in school, especially math and science. He’s on in preschool….but hey, he’s got to start somewhere! We’ve also taken him to local science centers and museums to continue to develop his interest in space and science. I’m just happy to have Aeromax Toys enhancing his at-home interest through play.
I have three kids and they are all going to be home with me all summer. I’m just happy my oldest (and sometimes my youngest) will be able to defeat some summer boredom with space adventures on the Jr. Space Explorer. It was already the highlight of the heat wave!
