My little girl is at an age where she wants to do things on her own. I always encourage her to be independent even though she may have obstacles preventing her from certain things. I am a firm believer that the only way a child can gain independence is to actually do things on their own. We generally have to make modifications for her to be able to reach things, such as the sink. She uses a bench to wash her hands and we have an automatic soap dispenser so that she does not have to reach too far for the soap when washing her hands. She is very efficient in climbing and moving toys that she can step on to get where she needs.
We recently added the KidSwitch to her bedroom light and this has helped her gain more freedom in going into her room to play and turn the light on. If I am in the kitchen cooking, she will ask me to come and turn on the light for her, but now she has learned that she can do it on her own. KidSwitch works with most light fixtures and is easy to install.
My favorite feature about the KidSwitch is that it glows in the dark. Many times children are afraid of the dark and will not enter a room where they cannot see. With this glow in the dark feature, children can easily see the KidSwitch in the room and quickly turn on the light.
KidSwitch is a great addition to any room that children access. Whether it is their own bedroom, or the bathroom, playroom, living room. Kids will feel more confident knowing they did it on their own!
