Last week we celebrated the end of summer with our closest friends. My girls are fortunate that each of their best friends are sisters as well, which, if you ask me, is pretty convenient! I’ve actually caught myself a few times watching them play together; it fascinates me that they will often switch play mates during their play dates. I joked with my husband that the secret to getting our own kids to play with each other is to have more kids because when their friends are over we don’t hear a peep out of them until someone gets hungry.
During our latest play date, I saw the tension building between the younger girls at some point. Both 5, both middle kids, both very stubborn. I offered them a snack and some water, but neither were interested. I tried to think of something to diffuse their conflict before it erupted into a full-blown explosion when I remembered the box of Ben & Holly toys that arrived for my girls to review. Before I introduced the toys, I asked them if they knew who Ben & Holly are. The only one who knew about the show was my 5-year-old, who stated that she saw it on Nick Jr. when she was visiting her grandmother’s house.
Now, opening one toy at a time with 4 eager girls was not happening, but you can see from the pictures how great the toy sets work with each other to expand your Ben & Holly toy collection. Check out each set:
Little Castle with Holly, Daisy & Poppy
This set is probably our favorite. It’s a castle that opens up to reveal a 2-story playset complete with four rooms and accessories for each room. This play castle comes with Holly, Daisy, & Poppy. When gameplay is over, simply tuck all the pieces into one side of the castle and close it. There’s even a carrying handle for easy transport. I can see this easily taking trips with us to grandma’s house or on a quick family vacation. My five-year-old loves pretend-play and this set has everything she needs for hours of fun.
Royal Car with Holly & Nanny Plum
How can you get from one kingdom to another if you don’t have a vehicle? The Royal Car fixes that problem. This car is definitely big enough for a princess and all her accessories. Holly and Nanny Plum are included with this set. One thing you might get tired of hearing is “I’m prin-cess Holly!” as the button on the car is pushed numerous times within seconds.
Magic Movers 4-Pack
These little buggies get a lot of use. They transport the characters to and from the Little Castle. Each figure looks like they are actually driving as they bop up and down when the buggy is pushed.
Fairy Tea Party
Every castle needs a place to hold a proper tea party! This playset comes with Holly and Violet, as well as a fun slide and accessories for tea.

If you’ve been a reader here for a while, then you know how much I value pretend play. Sometimes I sit and listen to my kids play with their toys because it can reveal so much of their thoughts and feelings. Pretend play enhances their creativity and imagination, and Ben & Holly toys are perfect for just that. If you aren’t familiar with Ben & Holly, click here to find out more.
