Every few months I do a toy cleanup where I toss broken toys, donate barely played-with toys, and scrub down the playroom. I find that after doing a toy room overhaul, my girls have a newfound love for their play area and spend more time discovering things they were too inundated to see when all their toys were scattered. This latest toy cleanup involved getting rid of some heavily used, bigger toys like their old Little Tikes kitchen. I bought the kitchen when my oldest was a little over 1, but my middle child had claimed it as her own by coloring on it, placing stickers everywhere, and even attempting to cook real food in it. No amount of cleaning could erase what my little artist had done, and because of the appearance, it was no longer played with.
Little Tikes Cook n Store Kitchen Is Full of Surprises! #HolidayGiftGuide2015
When I told them the kitchen had to go, I was surprised to have been met with teary eyes. This huge piece of “furniture” that was no longer played with had now become the prime piece in the play room. Once I showed them the new Little Tikes Cook n Store Kitchen, they were again confused. It was tiny coming out of the box, but I should add this was the EASIEST play kitchen to put together. It came already assembled, with pull out sections that not only made the kitchen wider, but also taller- growing with my children.
At first glance, the Little Tikes Cook n Store kitchen looks much smaller than our older country style kitchen, but our newer kitchen has just as many bells and whistles in a compact design that also folds into itself when you need to store it or shorten it to take up less space. The girls love the included lazy Susan, as well as the included accessories. I love the compact design and the simple fact that I didn’t have to put anything together when I took it out of the box!
This holiday season, consider a toy overhaul and some shiny new pieces of bigger toys. Priced around $70, you can’t go wrong with the Little Tikes Cook n Store Kitchen. It comes with plates, cups, pantry foods, and utensils. Check out more details by visiting Little Tikes.
