Finding time for self-care can be hard enough for busy moms, but it can be even harder during these strange times. We’re all stressed out, worried, and missing our old lives. This means it’s more important than ever to find some little ways to cheer yourself up and keep yourself feeling as positive as you can.

Make Time For Yourself
If everyone is home more often, you might find that you’re on Mom-duty even more than usual and struggle to find time for yourself. Try not to give up your you-time, even if you only get a few minutes to yourself. Tell your family that you need some time and that you’re not to be disturbed unless it’s an emergency.
Spend your time to yourself doing something that you find relaxing. You could watch an episode of a favorite show, drink a coffee in the garden, or take a bubble bath. Sometimes, just getting an early night is enough.
Some pampering time could work well too. Give yourself a manicure or pedicure. Do a facemask one evening. Spend a little extra time on your skincare.
Give Yourself A Gift
You don’t need to spend a lot of money to do this, but a little gift can really cheer you up. Order beautiful flowers online, because who says you can’t buy yourself flowers? They’ll cheer up your house and make you smile when you see them.
Buy an expensive bubble bath or something like a foot spa to use during your alone time. If you’re on a tighter budget, a new nail varnish or a bar of your favorite chocolate could do the trick too.
If you’re struggling with feeling bored while you can’t go out as much as you used to, then treat yourself to a new book, DVD, or game to keep you busy. If you like to relax with a hot drink, your gift to yourself could be some high-quality teabags or posh coffee. Buy posher cookies than you usually would or a scented candle. As long as it cheers you up and makes being at home more enjoyable, then it counts as a good gift to yourself.
Embrace The Family Time
Try to see the silver lining of all the extra time you have at home. You might not ever get so much time to spend together as a family again, so embrace it while you can. Plan fun things for you to do together.
For example, at weekends, plan long walks, bike rides, or set up elaborate sporting events in the garden. You could have a family Olympics with different events in different parts of the garden. In the evenings, pretend you’re at the movies with a movie and lots of snacks. Play board games together. Cook as a family. Do whatever it is that makes you as a family happy. If this means that you are playing Drift Hunters for one evening a week, do it. If this means that you want to sit down and read a book together, do it. You only get so much time to spend with your family, and we guarantee that you are going to be missing these times when the pandemic is over.
Ask the children for ideas of things you could do together. This gets them involved and encourages them to be creative. You might be surprised with what fun things they come up with.
