There are SO many products out there when it comes to bottles, binkies, and teethers, that it is hard to choose which one is right for your baby. Most of the time, your baby will tell you which one works best for them – this is what my little girl did. Thankfully she took the bottles I gave her with no problem, but the pacifier was a different story. Since she didn’t want the pacifier I chose not to push the issue, and figured it’s probably better in the long run – I wouldn’t have to worry about weaning her from it. I was also breastfeeding her so I thought not having a pacifier would be more beneficial so she wouldn’t have nipple confusion. After we found out she was colicky we decided to reintroduce the pacifier. I sent my hubby to Babies R Us and had him pick out 3 different types we hadn’t tried before. Sure enough out of the 3 (and a total of 6 that we tried from the start) there was only one pacifier she took well to. Sucking on a pacifier soothed her and kept her from chewing on me when she was frustrated.
MAM has so many products when it comes to baby – it is easy to spot their unique style amongst the other brands on the shelves. From pacifiers to bottles and everything in between, MAM carries a full product line for various needs and preferences. When I asked my pediatrician which pacifier he thought was the best, his answer was “the one with the thinnest nipple.” Well, MAM makes that an easy choice, since they currently carry the MAM Perfect pacifier which is 60% thinner than typical silicone pacifiers. The MAM perfect pacifier
is designed to prevent misaligned teeth with a symmetrical nipple. Don’t forget to pick up some MAM Pacifier Clips to keep your baby’s pacifiers close and prevent them from falling! These were a lifesaver for car rides and outings! The MAM pacifier clip is design to fit ANY knob or ring pacifiers, are easy to use, and clip on to clothing. They are also BPA free. All MAM style pacifiers come in a ton of different colors to choose from which you can coordinate with your MAM pacifier clip.
One of my favorite MAM products is the Anti-Colic bottle. Why I love it so much – it has a self-sterilizing feature where you remove the base of the bottle, place a little water in the base, put the nipple on top, and screw the base back into the bottle. Pop it in the microwave and VIOLA! You have a sterilized bottle at grandma’s or the babysitters house! No extra equipment needed! Along with this great feature, the MAM Anti-Colic Bottle has a vented base to prevent swallowing too much air and nipple that makes it easy for baby to switch from breast to bottle. The MAM Anti-Colic Bottle comes in 5oz and 8 oz sizes. If you are looking for something a little more simple and don’t need all the extra features, MAM offers a standard baby bottle which comes in 9 and 11 oz.
On to teethers! Teethers are the most overlooked items when it comes to babies oral health. I know that teethers weren’t the first thing on my list – I needed bottles and binkies and never put much thought into teething. When my baby was about 4 months old, she started showing signs of teething so I started my search, but I wasn’t too thrilled with what I found. Actually, SHE wasn’t too happy with anything. I didn’t know about MAM teethers, but after looking at their unique design, I think she would have preferred them over the plain teethers I got her because MAM teethers are textured and come in various shapes depending on which teeth are coming in. The MAM Bite and Brush teether is great for younger babies and helps jumpstart good brushing habits. The MAM Oral Care Rabbit serves two purposes – it’s main purpose is to help brush infant’s gums and teeth. When my little one was teething, friends suggested to freeze a damp towel and give it to her to chew on – I would use the MAM Oral Care Rabbit since it is designed for babies mouth!
You can find MAM baby products at your local baby store and find out more information about their products at MAMBaby. Be sure to connect with MAM on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on their latest products and promotions.
