Every morning my boys are allowed to bring one toy with them to school. My 4 year-old has to keep it in his school bag and my 3 year-old is allowed to play with it until circle time. My older son typically takes one of his Superheroes or his favorite stuffed animal doggie. But this morning he asked if he could bring his Road Racer from MOTORWORKS. Some kids just absolutely love playing with cars. My kids on the other hand are Superhero kids. But when I introduced them to MOTORWORKS cars by Manhattan Toy they were entertained for hours….and I expect for many hours to come.
Manhattan Toy has a new line of toy vehicles for ages 3 and up with interchangeable parts. These cars are truly beautiful, with a European beech wood body, and they have interchangeable pieces the fit all three series of cars (Street Series, Speed Series, Extreme series) and snap easily into place. The cars have a total of 7 different accessory packs which work with any of the vehicles. My boys have the Monster wheels and love how they transform their cars. Even my toddler was interested in these cars making vrrooooommm sounds while the boys were playing.
The boys spent half their afternoon taking the wheels on and off, then switching the red and silver wheels, then having mixed up wheels, then Monster Wheels! My 4 year-old kept running up to me and asking what his brother’s car was called. The Roadster or the Road Racer? This was very important to him. We have the Street Series GT Road Racer 1.0 and the Speed Series EXS Ground Effects Roadster 1.0. Then the kids began stacking all the wheels up into a tower, counting the wheels, counting the red wheels vs. silver wheels, etc. As a mom I was happy to see the kids playing with the cars in a way that was stimulating their minds and imaginations. They have a ton of toys that do a lot of the entertaining for them, with lights and sounds, but these cars encouraged them to play in a more creative way.
