Getting a doctor’s appointment these past few months has been nearly impossible. My doctor and my kids’ pediatrician will not see us unless someone is sick, and if we are sick, there is an incredibly long wait for an appointment. This just doesn’t work for my schedule, and I’ve been finding other ways to get a professional opinion when it comes to my health.
I started noticing MinuteClinic popping up here and there a few years ago. Since then, it seems that these MinuteClinics have spread and are more available in various locations. Since you can find a MinuteClinic in CVS, it is best to call your store before heading out to make sure they have these services available. When I was a teacher, it was recommended we receive a flu shot. The MinuteClinic was highly recommended by administration since it was local and they took walk ins. Since then, I have used the professionals over at the MinuteClinic when seeking advice for certain conditions and when I needed to see a doctor ASAP. They take insurance, which is great, and you are seen almost immediately, making the MinuteClinic the best place to receive expert medical advice quicker than it takes to make an appointment with your personal health care provider.
I’m so happy to see that MinuteClinic offers more than just flu shots and health check ups. Now they also prove to be a valuable resource when it comes to quitting smoking and weight loss. My husband has been trying to quit smoking AND lose weight, but needs a little more than a push to do this. He needs an expert to lead him in the right direction. He WANTS to accomplish his goals, it’s just difficult to teach an old dog new tricks.
You can find out if there is a MinuteClinic in a CVS near you by checking out their location finder. Right now they are available in 28 states and the DC area. You don’t need an appointment, and they take some insurances, so be sure to give them a call before you head in just to make sure yours will be accepted. You can also connect with MinuteClinic on Twitter.
it’s great to have a a healthgroup offering clinic services to the community. The savings from cost and time is tremendous!
We don’t have CVS where I live, but we do have similar clinics in our drugstores, etc. They’re defintiely worth the time you save!
I love these types of clinics because my husband has a fear of doctors and hospitals. The only way I can get him to see someone is to go to one of these. It’s in a pharmacy so his nerves aren’t so on edge.
