My oldest daughter sat through her first full movie at the movie theater recently! This is a milestone for her, because like all children, she gets bored easy and can’t sit still for the duration of a full length movie. We had a special mommy-daughter day and I took her to see Big Hero 6. After seeing many commercials on the big, balloon-like creature, my daughter was ecstatic to see him in the theaters. I knew the craze of long lines at our local theater and had to find an easy way to avoid the crowds and prevent an overwhelming experience for both my daughter and myself.
Although I had heard of Fandango’s easy to use services, I had never used them myself, until this moment where I knew it would be most beneficial. I hopped on the Fandango site, purchased our Big Hero 6 tickets for our local theater, and printed up the vouchers on my home printer. Once we arrived at the movie theater, I went right up to the ticket counter without having to wait in line, and after we were checked in we were able to watch our movie! Of course, we arrived super early because I wasn’t sure what to expect, so we got to play fun arcade games and pick up some movie-theater fare before the show started.
Now that I know my daughter is capable of sitting through movies, I can see us attending them regularly. It was fun experiencing the movie with her in a setting other than home, and the bonding experience between us is necessary because we rarely get one on one time. What are some ways you spend one on one time with each of your children?

Movies and kids don’t always go together. I took my kids on Saturday and my little guy literally stomped on popcorn to amuse himself. He’s 4 and doesn’t really behave himself. Fandango is great — we rely on it for going to the movies.
