Being pregnant doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice fashion. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I never found clothes I actually liked. Although most maternity stores have tried to stay up with the times and offer more fashion forward pieces, I found that I still looked frumpy in my balloon-like maternity shirts. I wanted to embrace my bump, not cover it up! The stores that offered styles that actually suited my personality were completely overpriced and I could not see myself spending so much on clothes that I would only wear a few months. I needed to find cheap maternity clothes that looked great and made me feel comfortable.

Skinny jeans have never felt so comfortable, you will forget you are even wearing jeans! Depending on the season, you will want a few tops, especially for the end of your pregnancy when you are at your biggest. I was fooled by my baby bump in the beginning. I started off so small and I thought I would have stayed that way until the end and I would be able to get away with my pre-pregnancy tanks and tees (I was biggest in the summer months.) By the time I was 7 months, my belly was so big, people thought I was 9 months! NOTHING fit. I had to resort to borrowing my hubby’s t-shirts which were totally unflattering.
A few maternity shirts that can be mixed and matched with various bottoms are suggested. Don’t forget, you can always wear them post-delivery! This is another thing I didn’t take into consideration when I was pregnant. You will still need your maternity clothes for a few weeks after you have your baby, so you are getting even MORE wear out of your maternity clothes. For around $100, you can score an entire new maternity wardrobe with versatile clothing pieces which will last you throughout your pregnancy and even on to the next one!
