Parenting Your First vs. Parenting Your Third

Seven years and three kids later, I can’t say I’ve done everything right as a parent. I’m still learning, still making mistakes, and still trying my best to do the right thing. With my first baby I relied heavily on what friends and family members did with their babies. I nursed her longer than I ever anticipated- an entire year! I got her expensive diapers, the best first pair of shoes, and the purest baby products I could find at the time. It started with her body wash, and quickly I learned that there were chemicals in just about everything I put on her.

By baby #2, I had done my research. I knew which brands to stick to- the ones that fit my lifestyle choices. From our laundry detergent to the products that touched our baby’s skin – there was nothing that wasn’t heavily research. But WHY were we still looking at baby wipes that had chemicals in them? From their earliest days in the hospital the nurses and doctors recommended only using a towel with water on it. No baby wipes. No harmful chemicals. I did this for as long as I could, but even before we left the hospital I was using wipes and my little girls both ended up with horrible diaper irritation.

Right before my third baby arrived, WaterWipes were available to me. I ordered a case and brought a pack with me to the hospital. There are only two ingredients in WaterWipes- Water, a tiny bit of grapefruit seed extract that inhibits mold (because anything with moisture WILL mold without an antibacterial agent.) After much research, there really is no other wipe that even comes close to being this pure. I wish WaterWipes were available with my other two children, but I’m happy that WaterWipes are now the only wipe I will use on my kids. From diaper changes to hand and face wipes, WaterWipes is my go-to and used for a variety of reasons.

Now that WaterWipes is available at Walgreens, I have a much easier time finding them locally! I’m so happy that I don’t have to special order them anymore, and if I happen to run out I can always find them at a nearby Walgreens.
