There is nothing worse than a baby who wakes up in the middle of the night, restless enough to cry but too weak to move. It seems that every time my little girl has had a fever, it would spike worse at night. Every parent wants immediate relief for their child and our doctor always recommended acetaminophen as the first course of action.
PediaCare was amongst the plethora of children’s and infants fever medicine on the shelves at our local drugstore. With so many options, it is hard to choose which one is best for your child, especially when they all contain the same active ingredient. I purchased PediaCare for my little girl when it was on sale so I could have an extra bottle “just in case.” It wasn’t long before that bottle came in handy, as she was constantly sick last year. She seemed to take well to the cherry taste and it kept her fever down, so it became our acetaminophen of choice since then.
PediaCare has since extended their line of children’s medicine products to include cold and flu symptoms, as well as gas relief for belly aches and allergy relief. If you have an infant, then you may have heard of the new regulations involving the use of a new dosing system to ensure accurate dosing. Both infant and children’s acetaminophen now contain a flow restrictor to prevent accidental ingestion. Check out this informational video by Dr. Jim Sears regarding proper dosing:
