Most mornings during the busy school year are hectic and breakfast is grab-and-go. The weekends are when we can sit down around the table as a family and enjoy each other and have more time for a substantial breakfast. My kids love homemade pancakes with sprinkles and fruit on the side, while my husband loves an onion, pepper, and feta omelet to start his day. I prefer something light, like a Greek yogurt with plenty of fresh fruit on the side. This is the only time I can enjoy my coffee hot too, as I typically get too busy to sit down and drink my coffee- so I either chug it down quickly over ice, or I bring it along with me in the car and drink it during school drop off and errand-running.
My husband always says when it comes to my coffee, I’m inconsistent. He’s right. He has his iced frappe every morning while some mornings I want my coffee hot, and others, cold. Some days I like a splash of milk and some days I want just a spoonful of sugar. On weekend mornings, I love my hot cappuccino with frothy milk, a touch of sugar, and sometimes a sprinkle of cinnamon. Having a coffee station ready and waiting for my preferences is like having a personal barista in my home. The De’Longhi Lattissima Pro is just that, offering a variety of Nespresso pods to choose from based on my taste buds. They even have an iced-espresso variety!
I love the sleekness of this machine. It matches my stainless steel appliances and takes up as much space as any standard coffee maker. I love that this machine is a combination of the Nespresso capsule system and De’Longhi’s Automatic Cappuccino System, which gives me a one touch espresso based, barista-style beverages, how convenient!? There are 6 pre-programmed drinks: ristretto, espresso, lungo, cappuccino, latte, hot milk and hot water, making it one versatile machine in a compact design.
For this particular breakfast, I knew the Vanillo in my cappuccino would be perfect. I set up the De’Longhi Lattissima Pro and it did the rest on its own- brewing the espresso, steaming the milk, and creating perfection in a cup to go with my Greek Yogurt and Berries breakfast.
Tomorrow I might want something totally different depending on what I eat for breakfast and how the weather feels, but I know I can make all my favorites with the De’Longhi Lattissima Pro.
