Have you ever had a bored preschooler home from school on a rainy day? I have. It’s not fun for her – she prefers to be with her friends, at school – playing, learning, and exploring. I’d like to think that I can engage her and spark her creativity while she’s home, but I guess with two kids at home, it’s hard to give either one of them my undivided attention for a good amount of time. I’ve looked through home-school sites to find ideas on projects that would be fun and educational for my daughter, but I just don’t have the time or resources to put everything together.
So, when I was asked to review Wummelbox, I agreed without hesitation. I knew that this was something my toddler, as well as myself would enjoy. Wummelbox is geared toward children ages 3-8 and provides individually packaged projects that incorporate crafts, learning, and fun. Everything you will need for a project is included, so you don’t have to worry about having supplies on hand – they even supply you with scissors if that’s what your project calls for!
My toddler was excited to get started. She chose to do the sound package, which included a few old film tubes and various items that make sounds – bells, rocks, balls, etc. Each tube is filled with a different sounds medium and then you can guess which tube has which item inside. She had fun trying to guess what was inside and taking a peek to see if she was correct.
What I love about Wummelbox is that everything you need is included in the box – including scissors! You can choose a subscription in specific intervals, and prices vary based on how many subscriptions you choose. Shipping is always free and boxes vary from month to month! These are great as a gift, or for your own child and perfect for a rainy day indoors!
