My hubby always makes fun of me when I rave about appliances I love. He says “that’s such a MOM answer- maybe I can get you a vacuum for Christmas!” What he doesn’t realize is that yes, as a mom, appliances ARE important. They simplify my life. The right vacuum makes cleaning up easy. The perfect dishwasher will save me a backache from leaning over a sink. The best washer and dryer will save us money and clean clothes effectively. Appliances are a mommy’s right hand and there is nothing wrong with that.
Before I received my Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer, I only had a washing machine. Washing clothes, sheets, towels, and even cloth diapers was a hassle. I had to choose which load was most important to wash that day because I had limited space to hang up the clothes to dry. After receiving my dryer, my entire world changed. I can get laundry done in one day! Yes, I finally have a designate laundry day! Okay, that’s totally a lie, but I can definitely get ALL my laundry done in one day, as opposed to doing a load of laundry everyday. This makes more time for other important things: you know, like raising two kids!
When I was pregnant and unable to make it up and down the stairs with a heavy load of laundry, my hubby started to help out. I loved that I was able to set up preset laundry options for him. All he has to do is turn on the machine, choose what type of laundry he is doing, such as jeans, baby laundry, regular laundry, sheets, or towels. He can even push a button to do a quick 20 minute wash which is great for cleaning something in a pinch.
The precision dispense feature is great- I fill it up every few weeks and the Whirlpool Duet does the rest. It lets out the perfect amount of detergent depending on the weight and type of load. This saves us on detergent and takes the guess work out of measuring for my husband. Along with saving on detergent, we also save water AND energy! This awesome machine uses 83% less water and 85% less energy. Laundry has never been so easy, and everyone in the family can get in on the fun with a machine that simplifies the chore.
Let’s not forget the Duet Dryer. This large capacity dryer is so smart, it can tell when your clothes aren’t dry yet! It starts off with an estimated time, but adjusts depending on how damp your laundry is. The dryer whispers as efficiently dries your clothes.
How do your appliances simplify your life?
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Whirlpool and received a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
Wow, I can’t imagine living without a dryer. I’m glad you are getting to experience a new way to do laundry.
I have that set as well, and I’ve been so pleased! I think the dryer is my favorite part too!
Even though my appliances are all new, they are not that great.
Well, I’m hoping my dishwasher will simplify life when it finally arrives. I haven’t had one for years and am looking forward to it!
Laundry is hard enough to stay on top of can’t imagine not having a dryer.
I’ve done without a dryer (both a washer and dryer once) several years back, not fun. They do make life much easier.
Hey, my husband got me a vacuum for Valentine’s Day once. It’s a long standing joke with our families, but I wanted it.
I live in an apartment complex and I hate the washer and dryers in the laundry room. A good washer and dryer makes a HUGE difference. Ours are terrible.
I couldn’t live without my washer and dryer.
We need a new vacuum so that would simplify mine. I love things that make life a bit easier and since us women do so much housecleaning, etc. that is important to us to have great things, I know I like the canister vacuums so I can do hardwood floors, have my crevice tools for cleaning which I use often…I just like them. Having a great washer & dryer is super important. Good golly, there’s always more laundry.
The precision dispense is a pretty cool feature to have! Whirlpool has always been a good reputable brand in our family.
I LOVE mine, utterly *love*.
I own basic whirlpool models but they do the job but takes so much longer than I ever expected. I honestly don’t have much that help me get through the day. With 6 people here and no help from anyone it’s exhausting
If I lived where it was warm year round I could see not having a dryer… but not here in Minnesota 😉
Could not live without a washer/dryer!
I could not live without my dishwasher now. It is amazing that I spent so many years washing dishes by hand.
Without a doubt my favorite appliance in my house is my duet washer/dryer because yes I don’t have to bend down.
When we upgrade down the road I’m definitely going to check these out.
I love that my dryer can dry heavy loads like our bedding.
Ohhh I so need some of these!
My washer and dryer definitely helps simply things for me. I am in need of a new set soon, and I don’t know what I’d do with it.
I’ve had to live w/o a washer and dryer when we first moved, it was tough LOL. I still don’t have great ones but they do what they need to do.
When I got married, my mother-in-law gave us her big freezer. It’s a Whirlpool. It’s ugly, and old. Over 30 years old. But it still works. I love it.
I couldn’t live without my washer and dryer for sure!!
I can’t imagine not having a dryer. Enjoy your new ones.
We need a new washer, ours is not energy efficient at all.
They are quite wonderful
I have been dying for a duet dryer, we are hoping to by one next year!
My dishwasher has had some issues over the last year. I can’t believe how much we rely on it until it is not working. I know the same would be true for the washer and dryer!
The only appliance that “somewhat” simplifies my life right now is our microwave. We have a washer and dryer that is used for two households (my in-laws and our family). So, as it works double-time, they also require maintanence/repairs practically every couple of months. I can’t wait to have our OWN (not shared) washer & dryer set, along with a working vacuum cleaner (sweeping with a broom – as our last vacuum broke again – is sooo exhausting!!).
