We are back from our mini weekend getaway. If you’ve been following me on Instagram you know I’ve finally hit the beach house with my family, as well as had some impromptu visitors come to visit. We hit all the hot spots on the north fork of Long Island including all the best places to eat and shop. My hubby and I are pretty good at gauging when our kids need a snack break in between meals before reaching that dreaded hangry stage, but we often forget about ourselves and instead reach for some unhealthy choices just to get us by.
Thankfully there was a Stop & Shop on the way to our destination so I popped in to get some “adult” snacks. My husband instinctively reached for the chips and sweets, but after I showed him the coffee cakes from Weight Watchers he agreed to give them a shot. With better-for-you substitutions like Greek yogurt, and portion control, we both chose a flavor we thought we’d love. He reached for the blueberry while I opted for the apple. Both were in the bread section of the shop.
We quickly browsed the rest of the aisles to see if there was anything else appealing, and of course we couldn’t resist the mini vanilla ice cream cones. With temperatures near 90 all weekend and intense humidity, a cold sweet treat was the perfect way to cool off.
Stop by your local Stop and Shop between 9/1/16 – 9/28/16 and when you buy any (5) FIVE participating Weight Watchers products (excluding Heinz SmartOnes & Meeting Room Products) you’ll Save $3.00 instantly while supplies last!
But what do Weight Watchers snacks taste like? Well, I was impressed. The ice cream was nothing short of perfect. It had everything I loved when it comes to ice cream- smooth vanilla with crunch chocolate flakes on top and a crunch sweet sugar cone. Sometimes you just want a little taste of ice cream and the mini vanilla cones are just enough to satisfy your taste buds. The coffee cakes were deliciously sweet and tasted much better than I expected. They were moist and fluffy- a perfect treat when on the go and even had a delicious streusel topping.
