My toddler has recently started getting bouts of extremely dry skin and after taking her to the doctor for it he decided to place her on a steroid cream. I’m not big on chemicals to begin with, so I needed to find ways to soothe her skin naturally.
I used the prescribed cream for a few days and saw major improvement, then I decided to stop. Now that I had the dry skin under control, I needed to find a way to maintain the moisture in her skin. I changed detergents, softeners, soaps and shampoos. Basically, anything that was coming in contact with her skin. Next I had to find a cream that lived up to my standards as far as effectiveness and safety.
Each night before she goes to bed and every morning right before she gets dressed, I rub my toddler with Earth’s Best Sleepytime Lotion. The Chamomile formula is soothing, made of organic ingredients, and doesn’t contain those nasty chemicals that have recently made headlines for causing cancer and other harm in children. We both love the scent of the lotion and after using it for a few weeks I can tell you that her skin has improved greatly. She no longer has patches of dry skin and she isn’t constantly scratching. I know this has a lot to do with the prescription cream clearing her up in the first place, but Earth’s Best Sleepytime Lotion has helped maintain her skin’s moisture.
