We are trading up the hot cocoa for ice cream now that warmer days seem to be here for good- or until October. There’s nothing like a simple vanilla ice cream- it can be dressed up with all your favorite toppings or eaten on it’s own. My favorite way to enjoy vanilla ice cream is with chocolate and almond pieces, like the Häagen-Dazs Vanilla Milk Chocolate Almond Bars. Since we had amazing weather this weekend, I sent my husband to Stop & Shop to pick up the delicious treats.
I couldn’t contain my excitement when he showed up with the smooth vanilla wrapped in crunchy milk chocolate with toasted almond pieces. I sat on my porch so I can sit in the sun and enjoy a little taste of heaven, but before I could even take the ice cream out of the package my kids were huddling around me like starving puppies. Can’t a mama enjoy a little treat to herself once in a while? I guess next time I should wait until bedtime before I break open the next one!
