Now is the time to start following through with those resolutions you’ve been planning! Many of my friends and relatives, my hubby included, have decided that January 3 is the day that they will start their weight loss challenge. My hubby is very familiar with weight loss plans and has decided that this time around he knows what he is doing and is comfortable enough to diet without being on an actual “plan.” This is a great option for people who want to lose weight, eat healthier, and know what proper portion sizes look like.
My hubby’s biggest problem is snacking and sweets. I admit, ice cream is my weakness as well and I have been known to skip the bowl and just eat right out of the carton. I am thoroughly aware of portion sizes, but when it comes to ice cream, I tend to overindulge. I am much better with ice cream that is pre-portioned and individually wrapped than ice cream in a half gallon container. Weight Watchers just came out with some yummy treats that are sensible AND delicious! If you have ever been on the Weight Watchers program then you know you can eat anything you want, but you have to stay within your range of points. Everything you eat is assigned points and you have a certain amount of point each day.
I had the opportunity to work with Weight Watchers and include their latest ice cream treats during my holiday gatherings. Everyone has this misconception that “diet” foods don’t taste as good as their full fat and full sugar counterparts. While I agree with this statement most of the time, I have also found healthier options that tasted good or even better than some of the other options on the shelves.
Each item that in the taste-test was worth 3 Weight Watchers points. Rather than having everyone try one of each dessert, I cut them up into pieces and had each person try a piece and guess what they were eating. As you can imagine, this was a little messy, but totally worth the entertainment! We received 4 Weight Watchers Ice Cream varieties to try out: Snack Size Chocolate Fudge Bar, Dark Chocolate Raspberry Bars, Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake Dessert Bars, and Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Dessert Bars. Before the taste test, I didn’t tell anyone that they were trying out Weight Watchers ice cream. It was interesting to see the reactions of everyone and I loved that everyone loved something they tried, even if they didn’t like them all. My hubby and I shared a favorite, the Dark Chocolate Raspberry Bars, but there was definitely something for everyone at the party.
Let Weight Watchers be a part of you weight loss journey! Whether you need an afternoon sweet treat or some dessert after dinner, their yummy bars are sure to satiate your sweet tooth. You can check out other Weight Watchers varieties on their site. Don’t forget to connect with them on Facebook and Twitter to stay up to date on their latest news and promotions!
