Now that my daughters are 4 and 1 1/2, they interact more than they did when my youngest was an infant. They go through phases of side by side and cooperative play, and often play together with the same toy. Occasionally they will fight over who got the toy first, but my oldest has learned how to convince her little sister into sharing a toy and playing together rather than playing by herself. One of their favorites is Violet, an interactive puppy my oldest received when she was 1. The puppy was customizable and says her name, her favorite food, color, and animal. That’s what I love about LeapFrog. Their toys are easy to use, easy to customize (if features allow for it) brightly colored, and educational.
We’ve added a new puppy to our LeapFrog family, and his name is Scout. Don’t confuse him with the original Scout – the male version of Violet. This Scout is much different because he reads to the kids and engages them in story time. Read with Me Scout is great for children 2-4 years of age, which is perfect because both my girls fit into the age range. My oldest will actually sit and listen to the story while Scout reads it and interact with the fun pup when he asks questions about the story, while my youngest would rather push buttons and cuddle with Scout. When it’s time to snuggle, you can change Scout’s mode and he even sings songs!
Scout comes with five preprogramed books which can be switched easily by pressing the corresponding numbers on his collar. Other functional buttons can be found on his cheek and both front paws. Read with me Scout also comes in a Violet version and retails at $34.99. They can be found wherever LeapFrog toys are sold. This holiday season Scout is sure to be a favorite with the kiddos, so head over to your local toy store and check out Read with me Scout!
Very cute, he looks all soft and cuddly. I think it is a great learning toy for the younger kids, I like a educational toy that interacts with your child.
