I must be getting old, because when kids are being rude I complain that their parents aren’t teaching them manners. Let this be a public apology to all those parents out there that I criticized. My preschool will say please and thank you for just about anything, but she can also be rude and pushy. I’m working on it, but I can now see that although parents are a huge contributing factor to children’s manners, children can also be defiant all on their own! This isn’t to say that teaching kids manners shouldn’t be fun! The people that came up with Kindness Kingdom had the right idea when they made manners into a board game!
Kindness Kingdom can be geared towards girls and boys, but I found that my 8 and 5 year old nephews just weren’t interested in the “princess game.” My daughter, on the other hand, can play this game every day and not get tired of it! Now, the game states it is for ages 5 and up, but my almost 4 year old plays it, loves it, and can sit through the directions of the game. Jessica Marventano came up with the idea of Kindness Kingdom and she is certified to teach manners and universal rules of etiquette to young children and teens by the International School of Protocol.
Each time we play the game, my daughter insists on wearing her pink tutu and beads to the “party.” I love her enthusiasm towards play Kindness Kingdom, and she loves the thought that it revolves around princesses and kingdoms! Each player receives a cardboard charm bracelet and the goal is to fill up all the charms by answering questions based on manners and also receiving fairies and teacups.

All the topics that are covered. Younger readers need someone to read the cards to them, but don’t underestimate how much they really know!
This is one board game my daughter never gets bored of! She always asks to play it and I love the messages it sends, in a fun way! You can find out more by visiting Kindness Kingdom and by joining their online community on Facebook.
