Family movie night has been given a whole new meaning since the summer started. Now that the kids are all off from school, as well as my cousin and hubby, who are both teachers, we are getting together more frequently so the kids can play and the adults can relax. Whether the sun is out or the clouds have taken over, movie time is always a great way for the kids to unwind and take a break from the blazing sun or take cover from the rain. Finding movies all the kids can watch can sometimes be a challenge, since they range in age from 10 all the way to 1.
A great family film which will be available this summer on the the Disney Channel is Teen Beach Movie. It will debut on the Disney Channel on July 19 8pm ET/PT. Teen Beach Movie is a family friendly movie that kids and adults of all ages can enjoy. It is a musical comedy that will get everyone singing and dancing, while also sending a great message across about believing in yourself.
Starring are Ross Lynch (of Disney Channel’s “Austin & Ally” and Hollywood Records’ R5) and Maia Mitchell (ABC Family’s upcoming “The Fosters”) as Brady and McKenzie, surfers who take the last wave of summer, one that mysteriously takes them into a classic beach party movie, Wet Side Story. There, it’s surfers versus bikers for control of the beach hangout…and everyone spontaneously breaks into song and dance. Brady and McKenzie must try to return to present day, but their lives may be changed forever when they inadvertently change the movie’s romantic storyline — and themovie’s handsome surf guy, Tanner, is falling for McKenzie while biker girl Lela is swooning for Brady.

I’m looking forward to this one myself! I grew up on Beach Blanket Bingo and Gidget, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy it.
