Traveling with kids is no easy feat, but I’m sure it does get easier with each trip you take. Our first family mini trip was for my first daughters 2nd birthday. We took a car trip to Lancaster with a few cousins. It was the farthest we had ever been from home with her, and we under packed clothes. She got car sick, which was something we weren’t prepared for. Every trip after that we always knew to pack extra clothes.
The most recent trip we took involved air travel and two kids. Packing was a bit challenging, because I insisted on carry on only and we had to stick to TSA requirements and limited packing space. My trick was ziplock bags. All the clothing was neatly rolled in ziplock bags and we had about 3 each.
Aside from clothing, there are quite a few necessities for kids, such as medicine (my youngest was sick the entire vacation) dish soap- for bottles and pacifiers, portable chargers for all our devices, extra socks and underwear, and anything else that makes life easier when traveling with kids!
Here are my favorites
Dapple travel kit– this includes non toxic, naturally derived cleaners for baby items. The kit contains a travel sized dish soap, 10 pacifier wipes, and stain remover. I love Dapple products because they don’t contain chemicals and are effective. This handy travel kit is TSA approved and fits perfectly in your carry on bag. Just because you are traveling doesn’t mean you have to give up your beliefs in using non-toxic products on your baby items!
Jackery portable charger– this portable device charge is quick and lasts long! I can charge two devices at once, and it is quick! I can even charge my camera, so I never have to miss a moment! To juice it up, you can plug it into the wall or your computer. It comes with a USB charge, but not an outlet. I simply plug it into my iPhone charger base and once it’s full I can take it with me. When not in use it can hold its charge for months! Definitely a travel must have! You can purchase a Jackery from Amazon. There are different sizes and styles to choose from. I love the Jackery Giant+ because I can charge two devices at one time and it is very quick!
Queasy pops- my oldest daughter gets sick in the car and on a plane, so we always have something around to calm her belly. I haven’t tried these out yet, but if they are anything like Preggie Pops that I used for pregnancy related nausea, then I’m sure they will help keep nausea at bay. Chicco C6 lightweight stroller– Don’t mistaken this compact stroller for your run of the mill umbrella stroller. If you are looking for the weight and fold of an umbrella stroller with the features of a full size stroller, look no further. The name Chicco says it all with quality and value that will last for many years and use. When we went to Disney, we opted for a small stroller to travel with and were very happy with everything the Chicco C6 had to offer. It folds with one hand and easily opens, so when your hands are full with bags you can easily get your little one in and out of the Chicco lightweight stroller. The canopy is fully adjustable, keeping little one protected from the sun. The Chicco C6 does not offer a full recline, but for a toddler it is angled enough so they can rest easy. There is a small basket on the bottom to hold things from diapers to sippy cups. For a lightweight stroller, I definitely recommend the Chicco C6. This will last a lot longer than an umbrella stroller and is very easy to travel with. I also love the Carry Beaner from NomieBaby. When you have a bunch of bags to carry (think grocery shopping) then you need one of these babies! I so need a portable charger. I am always killing my batteries. One of my #1 items is either my Ergo or my Gira to carry the baby when he’s cranky or I need all my hands.
That portable charger looks like a lifesaver! I’ve yet to be on a plane with my kids, but I can imagine. Which is probably why I haven’t attempted it.

This is a great list of items. We really like our Chicco stroller that is very similar to yours. I agree that it is not your typical umbrella stroller – it is way better.
