The occasional bed wetting accident is almost expected in younger children, but this doesn’t mean it’s any easier for the child to deal with. Both my girls were fully potty trained by 2, and my oldest didn’t have the need for extra night protection by age 3. Then something happened around age 4- she started sleeping heavier and longer, and would find herself awoken by wet clothing. It turns out, 1 in 6 children between the ages of 4-12 suffer from bedwetting incidents. This was a little damaging to her self esteem. On those nights, she was quickly changed and either given fresh sheets or invited to sleep in my bed. In the morning she seemed stressed- confused by why she couldn’t wake herself up to go. My husband and I did all we could to reassure her- even I remember having accidents when I was her age. I don’t remember ever being so stressed about it, but I guess every child is different in regards to how they handle their emotions on such a delicate topic.
We Use GoodNites *TRU-FIT* So We Can Have Good Mornings #WalmartTRUFIT #IC #Ad
I’ve seen various ways to protect the bed, and even have a waterproof mattress cover on both kids’ beds, but that doesn’t solve the problem of keeping the child dry and comfortable when accidents do occur. After being out of training pants for so long, there was no way my daughter was going back to wearing them at night, so I needed to find something that looked and felt like real underwear that would not damage her self esteem and make her feel like a baby. GoodNites *TRU-FIT*underwear is perfect for her size and weight, and look and feel just like real underwear on the outside. The inside is lined with a multi-layered disposable protection pad. The underwear itself prevents leaks, so your child can still have a peaceful night without being woken up by a puddle in their bed. Crisis averted! Everyone can have a much more restful night with GoodNites *TRU-FIT*!

We are still working on overnight potty issues with my youngest. These might just do the trick since they look and feel more like real underwear that he wears during the day.
Liz Mays says
This is really a smart idea as they move into that transitional period!

I really love these! My youngest is potty trained during the day but still has trouble at night and we’ve been looking for the right solution. I think this could be it!

It’s great that they have products like this available for kids today. It was so much harder in the “olden days” when kids had to be embarrassed.

I never thought about the sleeping longer! My almost 3 year old potty trained herself (overnight, too) and I was shocked… but I’m glad these are around in case we have nighttime issues in the future!
Harriet says
I sure wish that they had those when my kids were that age!

I use these for my son, they help give him a little more confidence with this bed wetting problem.

One of my girls wet her pants until she was 12. Nothing worked to stop it. She was not affected by the teasing of her classmates, or anything else. She just had to outgrow it. I wish we had had Good Nites back then.
Ericka Chatman says
Me and my brother used to wet the bed occasionally as kids. We both out grew it, but it sure would have been useful for my mom to have Good Nites around back then. It would have saved a lot of sheets, lol.
