Once the warmer weather hits, my toddler and I are always outside. We both need to get out of the house for fresh air and some sun just to keep us sane, especially after a long winter. Thankfully this winter wasn’t so rough in NYC, and it seems that spring has come a bit early. We are enjoying days at the park and strolls around the city.
Now, you may think that city life and sunscreen don’t go hand in hand, but the sun is just as strong here as it is on a beach in Long Island. I have sat on our front steps for all of 15 minutes blowing bubbles with my toddler, only to bring her inside and see that her face is already getting red. With concerns over skin cancer and carcinomas, I never take a chance with my toddler’s sensitive skin. If I know we will be out in the sun for more than a half hour, I make sure we are both wearing sunscreen, or at least bring it along with me if we go to the park.
Over the summer, we spend most of our time at our beach house. Unless it is raining, sunscreen is applied every single day, and on beach days it is applied every few hours. You can never been too safe! As you can imagine, too many applications of sunscreen may leave you feeling sticky at the end of the day. On top of that, the amount of chemicals found in sunscreen can’t possibly be good for your skin, or your overall health. So which do you choose? Risk of cancer from the sun, or risk of serious health effects from parabens and harmful chemicals being applied to your skin? Thankfully, making that choice is quickly becoming an issue of the past.
Beyond Coastal sun care products are free of parabens, petroleum, fragrances, and Vitamin A. They are rich in antioxidants and skin moisturizers, plus they are safe for sensitive skin. With an extensive product line for just about anything under the sun (pun intended) you will find a formula that is suitable for you. From lip-balms to moisturizers, and of course your typical SPF 15 or 30 sunscreen, Beyond Coastal offers clean, natural, and safe sun protection. Their non-greasy formula makes re-applications mess free without that sticky feel all day long.
