I am a member of the Balance Your Plate team and helping spread the word about DiGiorno pizzas. As a team member I receive product and incentives in exchange for participating in brand related activities.
I have to admit- the last thing I want to think about at the end of the day is what to feed everyone. Our days are crazy busy – by the time I drop everyone off, I have only a few hours to tend to housework, go food shopping, or take my little guy to his appointments. Then it’s time to start my pickup rounds, bring the girls home, feed them and then off to extra curricular activities.
While I wish I could easily pop something in the oven, I’m very conscious about what my girls put in their bellies. We are big on frozen veggies because they are frozen during their peak. I know they are packed with vitamins and are so simple to add to a quick meal.
On any given night, when I ask my family what they want for dinner, the common response is “Pizza!” I don’t think pizza has to be unhealthy, and oftentimes we will make our own with pita bread and some healthy toppings. Everyone get’s to choose what they like, and that’s my biggest secret of getting kids to eat their veggies!
On the nights that I can use a little help, DiGiorno has proven to be family-approved. Paired with frozen veggies or a side salad, I can feel good about feeding my kids a wholesome meal that they will actually eat! We’ve tried the original and plain varieties, but I personally love the DiGiorno Pizzeria Thin because they crisp up nicely and the Margherita variety has an authentic pizzeria taste.
