I’m sure many people can relate – whether it is in the afternoon or immediately after dinner, the intense craving for something small and sweet takes over but before you know it, you’ve finished the entire dark chocolate bunny you planned on giving your tot for Easter. Then you do the unthinkable; you turn over the package and realize you’ve consumed 5 servings at 150 calories each. Afraid to do the math, you throw out the evidence and go on with your day, vowing never to eat that much chocolate again (but totally crossing your fingers behind your back.)
This was me yesterday, and yes, when I got that dark chocolate bunny, I had minimal intentions of handing it over to my toddler – what does she know about dark chocolate anyway? Just like nearly half Americans who resolved to eat less just 8 weeks ago, I promised myself that “tomorrow” I wouldn’t eat such large servings of chocolate. I knew better than to say I wouldn’t eat chocolate – THAT will never happen!
Portion control is all the rave these days and companies are getting smart and prepackaging your food into smaller portioned bags. The only problem is that some of them have gone so far to sacrifice taste in order to get more product into those tiny bags. Some taste like chocolafied cardboard, while others give you 1/2 a cookie and promise you will be satisfied. I guess you can say when it comes to my chocolate, I’m a hard gal to please and I won’t settle for any run-of-the mill candybar.
There must have been some divine intervention, because a box of Skinny Cow Divine Filled Chocolates showed up to my door this morning. The heavens must have heard me vowing to never eat a huge amount of chocolate again and dropped off delicious packages of Skinny Cow caramel and peanut butter filled chocolates. Yes, Skinny Cow the ice cream company, and no, it’s not ice cream, it’s candy!
So, what makes these little Skinny Cow treats different from other chocolate out there? 3 whopping pieces of this silky smooth filled chocolate is only 130 calories and come pre-portioned. So you really do think twice about reaching for that second package. Believe me, these chocolates are so rich and satisfy that salty/sweet combo your tastebuds beg for, that you won’t even need anything else!
The new Skinny Cow Divine Filled Chocolates can be found in the candy aisle at your local grocery store (not in the frozen section with the rest of the Skinny Cow delicious frozen desserts.) You can find out more by visiting Skinny Cow and connecting with them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest
