You might remember my post about MAM pacifiers and the ability to personalize them. These were the first pacifiers I made for my newborn, but since there was a size smaller in the MAM pacifier product line, I decided to give her the newborn pacifiers first. Within a few weeks she had outgrown her newborn pacifiers and started taking the next size and I was finally able to introduce her to the personalized “Mute Button” pacifier I made her.
My infant is picky. She will only take MAM pacifiers and once I introduced her to the MAM Perfect, that instantly became her favorite. She will only take regular MAM pacifiers if she is really tired. The shape is the same, but the MAM Perfect is slightly thinner- which is great for proper oral development.
When I decided to introduce a bottle, I discovered that my newborn did not have the same tastes as my older child. My oldest took the first bottles I gave her, as well as the first pacifiers. My newborn, on the other hand, had her own preferences, and since she can’t talk, I had to figure this out blindly. We went through 4 bottles before giving up on any hope that she would take a bottle. I figured I would just have to be comfortable breastfeeding her in public and bottles just weren’t for her. When I was in Buy Buy Baby, I remembered that MAM also made bottles, and perhaps she would like these bottles since she loved their pacifiers. I picked up a box and tried her on them immediately. She instantly started suckling and continued to finish her bottle. SUCCESS! I did some quick research online to see what others were saying about breastfeeding and MAM bottles, and sure enough, many moms and babies were happy with MAM bottles! I did have a hard time the first few uses- they leaked a bit because the anti-colic valve has to be in place properly. After a few tries, I was able to master the valve and have had no issues since.
I think the reason she took to the MAM bottles much easier than any other is because of the shape of the nipple. It is indented on either end to simulate mommy’s nipple when baby latches on. I love that the MAM Anti-Colic bottles are easy to use, easy to clean and sterilize, plus my baby loves them too. They are made in Hungary, which is a big plus in my household. Another great thing about MAM Baby products is that they are inesxpensively priced! You can find them at your local baby retailer, or online at Amazon or Walmart.
Check out MAM Baby for more information on their baby products, plus be sure to connect with them on Facebook and Twitter to stay in the loop on promotions!
