It’s Potty Training time in our house! I have NO idea what I am doing. As a matter of fact, I think Little Luna has more of an idea than I do. She announces every time she dirties her diaper, so I started showing her the potty. Every day she sits on her Boon Potty and “practices.” A few times she was successful and this made her want to go more! I have tried 2 potties for her: The Fisher Price singing potty and the Boon Potty.
Here’s what I think:
I initially picked out the Fisher Price Potty because they advertise that you can move the seat to the toilet when you are transitioning. This was not the case for us: the seat did not fit on our toilet. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! I thought my musical little girl would appreciate the tunes each time she used the potty. I was very wrong. The music would scare her and she would stop mid-way. Fisher Price, this potty was not for us.
Boon was nice enough to send me a potty to review. My initial thought was “where am I going to stick this thing.” It was wider than the average potty. Once we set it up, the size was no longer an issue. You can use this potty in so many ways. I don’t need a bath mat when I am bathing Little Luna because I can sit on the potty (when it is folded). I love the side storage where we can put her coloring books (yes, my daughter colors on the potty) and there is a nifty spot for the toilet paper roll too! The potty collection pot pulls right out for easy cleanup. Although I would love a seat to convert for transitioning, Boon makes no claim of this and I appreciate that fact. I would have to go out and get a transitioning seat.
