When I invited my friends over for snacks and dish-washing chit chat, many of them decided this get together was going to be much less fun than other parties I have hosted. Who really wants to talk about washing dishes? I should tell you that I’m finally the proud owner of not one, but TWO dishwashers. The dishwashing gods heard me begging, crying, and complaining every time I had to hand wash a dish. When we lived in an apartment, we didn’t have a dishwasher and between working and taking care of my kids, the dishes would pile up. So, when we moved to a new house that had a kitchen on the main floor and a summer kitchen, both having a dishwasher, I knew this house was the one for me. Ok, so maybe the decision wasn’t solely based on the dishwasher, but it did excite me immensely.
My friends knew how I felt about not having a dishwasher for so many years, so they joked about my new obsession and figured this “dish-washing party” had to do with that. Little did they know that they would be enlightened about Cascade products and HOW they work. No one really wants to know why or how their dishwasher works, they just want it to be efficient and get the job done without much thinking. I can’t blame them, but once you understand HOW your dishwasher and the products you use work, then you can use your dishwashing tools much more effectively.
For example, did you know that Cascade Platinum NEEDS your dishes to be dirty in order to work at its best? That’s right! You can skip the prewash when you use Cascade Platinum. The special enzymes in Cascade Platinum binds to foods and break it down to wash it away. If your dishes aren’t soiled, then the enzymes have nothing to attach to and Cascade Platinum is not working its hardest. Now, I know what you seasoned dish-washer users are thinking: No WAY am I skipping the rinsing part of dishwashing.” This was actually said at my dish-washing party! Well, fine.. do the extra work if you want, but if you aren’t using Cascade Platinum, then you are working way too hard for those clean dishes. When I showed them the caked on brownie pan that would be going into the dishwasher, they pretty much all laughed at me. Not the ones that already used Cascade Platinum, though. They didn’t laugh at me. They already knew how good this stuff works.
Here’s another silly misconception I had when I finally got a dishwasher: The dishwasher is self cleaning and doesn’t need to be cleaned. WRONG. There is some nasty funk buildup after a while. Once I started using Cascade Platinum that funk went away because Cascade Platinum actually cleans my machine while it’s also cleaning my dishes. How’s that for Double Duty! Speaking of Double Duty, the ladies over at Double Duty Divas sent me a fabulous package so all my guests would leave with a swag bag of Cascade Platinum Dishwasher Packs and Rinse aid to make their lives a little easier when in the kitchen. Thanks for making my party a success and providing me with the tools to enlighten my friends and prove most of them who scoffed at me for not pre-rinsing, wrong. HA!
Oh, and that pans that sat in gunk all night… yeah, they got cleaned WITHOUT a pre-rinse. Check it out:
