Potty training was always a daunting experience in my mind. How do I get my child to potty train? I had no idea! And even worse, why isn’t my child ready to potty train? My oldest daughter was 18 months when we started. She was and still is afraid of everything. So naturally, she was afraid of potty training. She didn’t like the feeling of not having diapers, and after a week of trying it was time to throw in the towel and admit it was just too early. Fast forward 6 month later, and she was potty trained within 2 days!
Now it’s time to potty train my youngest daughter. We’ve actually been setting the foundations for potty training since she was one. She would ask to go potty just like her big sister, and even knew what she had to do! She just didn’t have the vocabulary to tell me when she had to go, but that didn’t stop us from trying! Last month I set up a potty in our living room and took off the diapers! She had one accident but quickly learned that if she had to go she should sit on the potty. This went on for two days with much success, but then she became really sick with a virus and we had to stop. Now we have to start over again, but I’m pretty confident she is ready to ditch the diapers and start a new chapter in toddlerhood, even though she is just shy of 2 years old!

Since I’m a Pull Ups First Flush Ambassador, I will be sharing our journey with you! I’ve already told you our background story, so follow along to see if my baby girl was ready to be potty trained before she hit her 2nd birthday!

Oh gosh, I don’t miss the potty training days. I was pretty relaxed about it and not in a hurry though, so when it happened it was pretty easy.
I think my kids were all ready to be potty-trained long before I was ready to try. Oh, I do not miss those days at all.
YAY! Congrats all my kids but #5 potty trained by 2. Then #5 came and she didn’t have it mastered till almost 5. #6 is 20 months old and he’s already starting to show the signs of wanting to try the potty so we ordered him one. When ya have to duct tape his cloth diapers to keep them on it’ time.
Ohhh I dont miss this at all! hahaha… but all the best!!
Good luck! My daughter didn’t PT until right when she turned 3. She started preschool and was perfectly trained within a week. Go figure.
I always took the laid back approach. I let them tell me when they were ready. Sure, that means they potty trained a little later than others but it got done with no stress on my part. My daughter was fully potty trained just before she turned 3. I love not having to buy diapers anymore.
It took my first the longest to fully be potty trained. He was 4ish when he finally mastered it. Right now, I’m trying to potty train my 20 month old.
Potty training time can be stressful for everyone. Thank goodness pull-ups helps that transition from diapers to big boy pants.
I was potty trained at 18 months but my oldest daughter was closer to 3.5 before she was completely done. I’m hope my youngest is done way before that!
My first three potty trained easily. Then Mr 4 and Mr 5 came along. Both are on the Autism Spectrum and they took forever to potty train. My daughter who is Miss 6 was also slow. She figured if the others weren’t using the potty then why did she need too. I cried the day the last one was done.
