When it comes to get togethers at my place, it seems that everyone gravitates towards the chips and dip. For this reason, I always have some Lays plain chips on hand, and for those that want a little flavor, I kick it up a notch with their Sour Cream & Onion variety. I remember my mom always having plain Lays out when we had guests, so it was only natural that I followed suit!
One of my children’s favorite meals is a Greek dish, chicken souvlaki with tzatsiki dip. After a close family friend suggested that Lays’ new flavor should be a tzatsiki chip, I couldn’t help but think of my girls during dinnertime, elbow deep in that tangy cucumber yogurt sauce that they could eat on just about anything! My youngest has recently discovered tsatsiki sauce and is hooked! From breakfast straight through to dinner, she asks for this delicious sauce to accompany her every meal.
Making tzatsiki sauce is super easy, and once you try it I’m sure you will love it! Here’s how you make it:
Ingredients:
16oz plain Greek yogurt
1 tbsp Olive Oil
2 Garlic Cloves
1 small cucumber
salt to taste
Directions:
With a grater, grate cucumber and garlic in a bowl. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Garlic can be added if you like it extra garlicky!
Can’t you imagine this delicious flavor in your favorite bag of Lays chips? We love tzatsiki as a spread on sandwiches, a spoonful on pita bread with some grilled meat, and on chips or veggies as a dip.
Right now Lay’s is running their “Do Us a Flavor” Contest where you can submit your favorite flavors with up to 3 ingredients on your preferred Lays chip type (Original, Wavy, or Kettle Cooked.) To find out more, visit Lay’s Do Us a Flavor.
Yum!! I just had a veggie Gyro of sorts for lunch…. tzatsiki sauce spread over a pita with onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and sprouts.
