With the kids home for the summer it sure feels like a celebration everyday. We can sleep later, get out of the hum drum routine, and visit with friends frequently. Whether we are hosting play dates or attending play dates, sweet treats are usually on the menu as an after lunch pick me up.
I’ve never heard of or tried frozen custard, so when I saw it in the freezer section of my local supermarket, I had to check it out. One of my favorite cookies is the snicker doodle, and Edy’s makes a snicker doodle frozen custard, so it was only natural that I try it out. The sugar and cinnamon swirl would surely be a hit with the kids too! Other flavors include Old Fashioned Vanilla, Chocolate Malt, Salted Caramel Pretzel, Peanut Butter Pie, and Mint Cookies ’N Cream. Find a location near you that carries Edy’s Frozen Custard.

There are so many ways you can enjoy frozen custard, whether you prefer it right out of the carton or like to get fancy with your dessert, there is no wrong way to enjoy this delicious cold treat. My girls love making ice cream sandwiches and during our BBQ parties we like to make a few of them in advance to share with our guests. We simply take two of our favorite cookies, chocolate chip in this case, and sandwich a small scoop of snickerdoodle custard in between. A gentle squeeze sets the treat in place and I wrap them in plastic wrap or place them in a freeze safe container until it is time to enjoy.

You can even serve custard in cute dessert cups to wow your guests:
