A couple of weekends out of the month I have family over for playdates, gossip, and wine. It’s fun to watch the kids grow and play while making memories together. Our typical weekend gatherings include lots of yummy food and delicious desserts. Since the kids get bored rather easily, we try to find ways to keep them entertained, especially during the colder months when they can’t run around outside.
Since my nephews are older, crafts don’t appeal to them much, but they do love getting creative with food. At our last gathering I pulled out my Kalorik Fondue set for some chocolatey fun. The kids didn’t know what to expect, until they saw the bags of marshmallows, chocolate chips, and graham crackers. Setting up the fondue set was rather easy, and the kids all helped out. What I love most about this set is that I can also make my autumn caramel apples in the easy to clean pot!
After all the pieces were washed and the fondue set was assembled, it was time to melt the chocolate. Within a few minutes we had some velvety-smooth chocolate and it was time to let the kids have some fun. The set also included molds to make chocolate pieces, so I encouraged them to choose a mold to make some chocolates for another day, because no one wants to deal with a kid who has had WAY too much chocolate in one sitting! The adults joined in the fun and everyone enjoyed a simple and delicious fondue dessert. This will be a hit at many parties, and is so easy to clean up.
