One thing I looked forward to each Easter was making my own Easter basket full of goodies with my mom. Since Greek Easter typically falls after Easter season, we would get our basket supplies for 50 and even 75% off when everything was on sale. My mom allowed me to fill my basket with whatever I wanted: Candy, chocolate, and that annoying basket grass that gets everywhere. Once I had kids, I decided to do away with the candy, grass, and even the traditional Easter basket this year. Since we just renovated our backyard, we needed some new pots, so I thought it would be a cute idea to make the kids flower pots filled with their Easter goodies along with some flower bulbs so they can take part in a special outdoor project.
Since my oldest daughter has been begging for a Furby Boom, I thought it would be nice to surprise her with one for Easter. Inside her Easter “pot” I’ve also included some spring clothes, summer shoes, and flower bulbs. I think she will be most excited for the Furby Boom she has been asking for since Christmas. This fun interactive toy may be high maintenance, but I think it might teach her a thing or two about responsibility and kindness. I hear these little fellas can get a bit grumpy if they aren’t treated properly.
For my little one, she got quite a few necessities in her basket. New spring pajamas with her favorite Disney characters, along with summer shoes and swimsuits, this little girl will have fun. She loves shoes, can you tell? She will also be receiving a Furbling which can pair up with the Furby Boom, so she can play with her sister. The Furbling can also be played without the Furby Boom and makes adorable sounds when you pet it. I think they will have a great time with their Hasbro toys! Since she is having a Minnie Mouse birthday party, I got her an adorable Minnie Mouse tutu dress to wear for her special day.
I am so happy with how their Easter baskets came out and can’t wait for them to see their goodies. I know each time they look at their flower pots outside they will remember they received them for a very special Easter, our first in our new home!
I love the flower pot idea, much more useful than another cheap pink Easter basket.
That’s a really cute idea for an Easter basket. It’s a lot healthier and more fun!
