We started our potty training journey with my almost two year old a few months ago. She was showing me many signs of being ready and initiated potty training on her own. I thought since she showed much interest, potty training was going to be a breeze. What I didn’t realize was that shortly after being diaper free for nearly 3 days, she would start regressing after she got sick. With her temperature reaching 104, she was no longer interested in using the potty, and I didn’t push her. A week after that we went on vacation, so potty training was put on the back burner until we returned home. At that point she was ready to be back on the potty and had no issues for the first two days, and after that she completely lost interest. Since she is under 2, I didn’t want to push her too hard or stress her out, but I feel that we didn’t make the progress I initially thought we would have made by now.
