While I love makeup, I have a hard time choosing the right colors. I shy away from dark bold colors and tend to go with the soft, flirty colors. You can say that I am actually afraid of makeup – even though I enjoy wearing it. I find myself choosing colors that I think will look good when I am in the store, but I am usually disappointed by the time I go home and actually try them on.
My personal favorite makeup company can only be found in high end department stores, and after getting married and having a baby, our budget does not accommodate my guilty pleasure, so I have to be creative and find other makeup that does the same job and looks similar. When I was approached by e.l.f. cosmetics to try out their products, I didn’t really expect much in the way of quality. Their makeup is just a fraction of the cost – can this stuff really be good?
So, I ordered a few eyeshadows, a gel eyeliner (my all time favorite beauty product) and some pigments. And answered my question – YES, even though this makeup is inexpensive, it IS good! I found that the colors were true to what was shown on the website, and I was excited to try them on. I was impressed with the quality, considering it is cheap makeup and thought that for only $50, you can score an entire new makeup season without breaking the bank! The eyeshadows lasted all day long and the eyeliner didn’t smudge. I actually prefer the e.l.f. eyeliner to my old gel liner! The pigments, as always, are a little tricky to apply – as they are loose and can get everywhere. The only disappointment I had was that all the shimmer colors had A LOT of glitter in them and this is just not my style. If you decide to go for shimmers, read the reviews if glitter is not for you. There are a lot of great customer reviews that tell you the good and the bad of each product.
The website itself was easy to navigate and I found that they usually have some special going on. Whether it is for a discount, free product, or free shipping, you are sure to score a great deal at e.l.f. cosmetics.

I agree! I love makeup but can’t always afford to buy the high end stuff. I have bought a lot of E.L.F. products and have loved (most of them). While ordering products from them is sometimes a hit or miss. Most of their products are true to color, have great pigmentation and does what it’s supposed to do. I absolutely love their false lashes. Their Studio line is great.I think I’ve tried almost everything from it.
I agree I can’t afford high end right now. Just did my first ELF order (see my review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBB1gB6adDs) and waiting for the next one. Gonna try the Studio range next that looks amazing. No harm in ordering from them just to try stuff as it is so cheap. Happy days (and Happy New Year)
