Personally, I go through phases with oatmeal. I love it, but I can’t eat it all the time. My little girl isn’t much of a fan of oatmeal and would rather have to chew her food than have mush for breakfast. She really can’t appreciate the enjoyment of comfort foods just yet, and oatmeal is definitely a comfort food (or at least it is for me!) I have tried various instant oatmeals and there is only 1 brand I like that I have to special order on Amazon. Oatmeal has to taste good – it has to have substance and flavor, otherwise it is just plain old oats.
When I received Earth’s Best instant oatmeal to sample, I thought it would taste similar to another brand that is readily available on the market. Specifically I tried the Maple & Brown Sugar variety. I knew my toddler wouldn’t have any part in sampling this oatmeal because she just isn’t an oatmeal kind of girl. This doesn’t mean I wouldn’t at least TRY to feed it to her – oatmeal is one of the healthiest breakfasts you can have and I would love if she would eat it at least sometimes.
After making the oatmeal according to the instructions on the box, my toddler asked “What’s that?” but wasn’t interested in actually eating it. I made the oatmeal everyday and sat down with her to eat. In the meantime, I was REALLY enjoying this delicious oatmeal and almost felt silly that it was geared towards toddlers. By the fourth day of my little girl watching me eat oatmeal for breakfast, she seemed to be interested in trying it. Besides, it smelled SO yummy and sweet, how can a kid NOT like it? I used bribery to get her to try some and she immediately spit it out – she has issues with certain textures and this just didn’t suit her palette. About a minute later, she was poking her face in my bowl again, so I gave her another small taste. This time she ate it! I was more than excited that she actually tried something new and hopefully this means she will start accepting other foods that have a similar consistency.
Now, I can’t tell you that Earth’s Best will make your baby a champion eater, but I can say that their foods are very yummy! My little girl has eaten Earth’s Best Yummy Tummy Instant Oatmeal everyday since that first taste, and she even asked for it this morning for breakfast! Don’t forget the Earth’s Best promise: there are no growth hormones, antibiotics, steroids, pesticides or herbicides in their foods. Each serving of Yummy Tummy instant Oatmeal is made with whole grain oats, contains 3 grams of fiber per serving, includes vitamins, minerals, and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. You can always feel good about giving your baby Earth’s Best foods!

I haven’t seen this at the Target near me yet. I hope they will have it; sounds great!
I haven’t checked near me yet, but I did order a case on Amazon!
I wish the reviewer also mentioned that this oatmeal is loaded with sugar.
