I never realized how much pressure was on the cook during Thanksgiving until it was my turn to host. I’ve been hosting Thanksgiving for 4 years now, and each year it does get easier, but the pressure to not burn the Turkey is always present. You can undercook the string beans and over cook the potatoes… but whatever you do, DON’T MESS UP THE TURKEY!
My mother never used a meat thermometer. The woman is a genius, and clearly I don’t have the gift of meat intuition. I’m a pretty good cook, if I do say so myself, but I cheat every now and then. It all started during the first Christmas I hosted at my place with my in laws. I wanted the first of many family traditions to be perfect and impressive. So I ventured out to my local supermarket to get ideas on what I was going to serve. And there I saw it: the prettiest piece of pork all placed nicely together to create a beautiful crown roast. I had to have it. I had to learn how to cook it. If there is anything to learn about pork is that it is very easy to mess up. It dries out very easy and is tasteless without proper seasoning. I opted for a plain crown roast, as opposed to having my butcher stuff it and season it.
I looked online for recipes, and decided to get a meat thermometer to help me out. I can see my mom now, with her face in her palm, disappointed. Yes, I caved and got a meat thermometer. Long story short, the meat was undercooked, although the presentation was gorgeous. The meat thermometer ended up in pieces- I was really mad!
5 years later, and I’m still clueless about cooking meat, and the perfectly moist chicken breast is hit or miss when I cook it. Until I tried out the iGrill. Perfect meat? Yes, there is an app for that! The iGrill has some great features I didn’t get out of my old meat thermometer. For starters, it’s accurate. It connects to my iPhone via BlueTooth which means I can do laundry, clean the house, and round up my babies, all while keeping an eye on the meat in the oven. Once my food is done, the app alerts me and I have food cooked to perfection.
If you use it during a busy holiday dinner where you are having two meats, that is no problem as the iGrill can monitor your turkey and ham at the same time with it’s dual probe technology. As long as you are within a 200 foot range, the iGrill will remain connected to your iPhone, iPod, or iPad. It is also compatible with Android, just check out iGrill for more information. The app also has recipes from Jennie-O, as well as Facebook integration.
So, whether you are entertaining guests for the holiday season, or just want to make the perfect meal for yourself, check out iGrill and order yours today to get it just in time for the upcoming December holidays! You can also connect with iGrill on Facebook and Twitter to stay in the loop on their current promotions!

That is so cool. I need this! I can NEVER cook chicken. It’s either undercooked or overcooked every single time my husband and I cook it.
