Heart disease is commonly thought of as a “man’s disease.” I can tell you that after watching a close loved one suffer from heart disease for several years, this statement is farthest from the truth. She was an older woman, and after doing much research on her specific case, I learned that women are just as likely to suffer from heart disease as men, but it often goes undiagnosed due to the old thinking that women generally do not suffer from heart disease.
Did you know that heart disease may actually be preventable? By taking the proper initiatives to safeguard your health by eating a proper diet, you can cut your risk of heart disease substantially. February is American Heart Month, and this year, Quaker is teaming up with Fabio Viviani to inform women on making the right choices and take care of their hearts. You can check out the video here:
