Barbecue season is here! Every day I smell the aroma of grilled meat and I just crave it the nights we dont’ barbecue. We throw just about anything you can think on the grill when we barbecue- burgers, steak, shrimp, chicken, pineapple, potatoes- you name it, it get’s grilled! Yes, I just said POTATOES! How do you grill potatoes you may ask? Very easy! I tear open a bag of Ore Ida Grillers and throw them on the grill along with the other food. It’s THAT simple! I always left out the fries during barbecues and my brother goes through the trouble to fry up some fries to go along with the meal, but why use the kitchen if you don’t have to? One perk of barbecues is the no-mess-in-the-kitchen, so why mess up the kitchen AND still have to clean up a grill afterwards?
I brought Ore-Ida Grillers to my moms house for a barbecue one evening and we threw on both varieties that are available: Golden Thick Cut Potatoes and Seasoned Thick Cut Potatoes. I knew instantly that I would like the seasoned variety over the plain because I love my potatoes to have some flavor, but we made both to compare them. Within 15 minutes they were cooked and ready to be added to the rest of the meal. The thick slices of potato sat neatly on the grill without falling through the spaces. They were SO much easier to cook than frying up french fries, and I didn’t have to sit and peel and slice potatoes. I loved that I didn’t have to dirty other pans or the stove to make these- they simply sat on the already-hot grill and cooked!
The verdict: My family LOVED the Ore Ida Grillers. Their favorite was the seasoned, while my toddler loved the golden potatoes. I was the odd person out because personally, I prefer crunchy french fries over the grillers, but that it because the grillers were more like potatoes than fries. They are a lot thicker and have a soft inside. Still, I would much rather throw on a bag of Grillers than take out the oil and frying pan!
You can find Ore Ida Grillers in two varieties, Golden Thick Cut Potatoes and Seasoned Thick Cut Potatoes, at your local grocery store. You can also find out more at Ore-Ida, plus connect with Ore-Ida on Facebook to stay up to date on their latest products and promos!

These look really good! We usually end up baking tater tots or fries when we grill but these would be nice to get so we don’t have to use the oven.
YUM…these look good.
We loved these Grillers too!! I picked up the plain ones and love that we can switch it up and season them however we like, but I want to try the seasoned as soon as I can find them!
we tried this… and they turned out ok. A little hard
The seasoned thick cut sound great! I would love to give these a try next time we grill!
Gonna have to look for these in my store!
I have yet to try these, but they sound great. Definitely saves a lot of time and hassle:0)
These look delicious and so easy to make. I love the idea of not having to heat up the house using the oven.
Thanks for the review!
