Although my family never had a set tradition for Christmas, there is one thing that was always consistent: watching The Original Christmas classics during the week-long holiday school break. I never thought, after all these years and the advances in modern television, that these shows would still be on TV for my toddler to enjoy. While you can still catch them on TV during the holiday season, you never really know when it will air, and then you have to watch it with commercials.
When I found out it was available on Blu-Ray, I knew I had to get my hands on it! My toddler is at an age where she actually enjoys specific shows and has preferences. I knew the large simple animations and bright colors would amuse her, and I was right. As soon as the Blu-ray came she asked to watch the shows. I popped the first Blu-ray disk in and, well, now we watch it ALL the time! I actually asked my husband when we are putting up our Christmas tree and he thought I was out of my mind (which isn’t unusual!) I actually felt the warmth of the season just by watching these videos with her and they evoked many memories of my childhood.
The Original Christmas Classics box set will be available wherever Blu-rays are sold for $44.99 MSRP. Titles include “Frosty the Snowman,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” and “Frosty Returns.”
We didn’t grow up with VeggieTales and never watched them before now. The Little Drummer Boy is one of my favorite holiday stories and the makers of VeggieTales did a great job bringing this story to life. There are strong messages that run through this video and is a great way to show that despite everything else, there is hope during the holiday season.
You can own both sets of videos this holiday season by winning them! Just fill out the easy Rafflecopter form below:
