It seems that honeymoons are portrayed as a lover’s paradise getaway. The time to celebrate your love and relish in all the new things that come along with marriage. No one ever tells you about honeymoon mishaps when you are booking your seemingly dream vacation. Like when your tourist van breaks down in the desert, or when you find yourself lost on vacation.
Since my husband and I could only take short vacations, we decided to break our honeymoon up into two parts. We both wanted to check out Cancun, Mexico and also loved the action in Vegas, so we took two honeymoons months apart. Our first honeymoon was amazing. An all inclusive resort and romantic getaway. Our second, in Vegas, while it was really great, we ended up in a bad part of town. Sure, you think of Vegas as bright lights and high rollers, but when you take a cab to downtown Vegas, or old Vegas, then you are in a different world. That won’t be happening again!
