Johnsonville No Ordinary Burger Contest (+Giveaway!)


To me, there is no better season than burger season! We love burgers so much in my house that we even have an indoor grill for cold winter days that we just crave a nicely grilled burger. Johnsonville is changing what you know about burgers. They now have sausage burgers in two delicious flavors: Original Bratwurst Patties and Italian Sausage Patties. Whether you are a burger person or a sausage person, these flavors are sure to tantalize your tastebuds!

Johnsonville is currently running their “” contest and they want YOU to submit your unique recipe to compliment their new sausage patties. You can win a year’s worth of groceries from Walmart! There are two grand prize winners! View the contest rules.

Johnsonville sent me a portable gas grill and some sausage patties to inspire my creative juices and come up with my own recipe to share with you. I decided to add some Greek flavor with two special recipes that would please any palate. My first is a spicy feta spread:

Spicy Feta Spread

1/2 pound Feta cheese (crumbled)
1 whole red pepper (the ones that are already marinated in a jar)
1-2 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp oregano
olive oil

Place all ingredient in a food processor and add oil slowly until you have achieved a creamy texture.

Cool Tzatsiki Spread

8oz Greek Yogurt
1 clove garlic
1 Kirby Cucumber
1/4 tsp mint
1 tbsp Olive Oil

With a cheese grater, grate cucumber and garlic. Mix all ingredients together.

That’s it! Two VERY simple recipes to add a Greek twist to your burgers!

As always, I love to dress up my burgers with a slice of tomato, a slice of red onion, and a piece of lettuce.
