When my first daughter was born, I had to go back to work when she was only 8 weeks old. Whether you have children or not, you know that an 8 week old is still very vulnerable to a lot of things – their heads are still wobbly, they need constant attention and proper care. If I didn’t trust the nanny I hired to care for her, then there was no way that I would have ever left my daughter with her. But as a new mom I still had my doubts about anyone that did (and still does) come in contact with my kids. I want to know what is going on with them when they aren’t with me. When my daughter entered preschool last September, I had a hard time dealing with not knowing what she was doing the two hours she was away from me.
Now I hear that some preschools and day care facilities have camera monitoring where parents can log into a network and see what their child is up to. I’m the type of parent that would probably not be able to peel my eyes away from the screen, but having that piece of mind really helps. Dropcam is a camera that has the capability of giving you that piece of mind. Their cameras are unlike any other camera on the market. They only come with a camera and do not include a monitor because you simply don’t need one with their set up. You can log in from your Android, iPhone or computer, and you can even set up an account where they save recordings. This feature is extra, but the basic camera is still pretty awesome on it’s own.
I love that you don’t have to have a separate device to view your child. So whether you are setting up a nanny cam or just need a plain old baby monitor, Dropcam is a great solution. You can keep an eye on your child wherever you go and you never have to worry about being out of range because it works with a Wi-Fi network. And if you’ve ever wished you can snap a photo of your child doing something adorable while you are away, Dropcam allows you to do that too! It’s super easy to set up and I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes.
