I have a confession to make: I’m a coffee-holic. Apparently I have loved coffee since I was a kid, because my mom tells me that I use to beg her to give me some of hers. To please me, she would put a few drops of coffee in some milk to trick me. I love coffee even more, but I wouldn’t exactly call myself a coffee connoisseur. There is something about the smooth aroma that entices my tastebuds. Just the smell of coffee alone is enough to excite my senses. When I was still living at home with my parents, I was awoken every morning by the aroma of a freshly brewed pot of coffee. When I moved out, things changed. My hubby doesn’t drink brewed coffee and I had purchased a 2 cup coffee maker just to get by. When we had company, I would take out my 12 cup coffee maker to make my life easier.
The 2 cup coffee maker worked for me for a while – but something was missing. The coffee didn’t taste so fresh after a while and it was not programmable. When I was a teacher, I needed the convenience of a programmable coffee maker in the morning before I left for work.
I took a short hiatus from my twice-daily coffee habit shortly after I got pregnant. After I gave birth, my coffee habit was back in full force and I was drinking about 3 cups a day just to keep up with my new mommy lifestyle. I had the 12 cup coffee maker out permanently and would brew 1 pot a day. You can imagine that by the time I was on my second cup, the coffee was completely stale. I love my coffee… but I also have standards.
When my coworker told me about the Keurig, I was intrigued. “So, you mean I can have a freshly brewed cup of coffee in under a minute EACH time I wanted coffee?” I had to know more!
Keurig has been gracious enough to send me the Special Edition Brewing System to review. I have never been more in love with a kitchen appliance as I am with the Keurig. It has a reservoir for water – so it holds 48oz of water – no refilling each time I decide i want a cup of coffee. Whether I am drinking a cup of coffee at home or I am taking it to go, the Keurig can adjust the amount of water I need for my “home” mug or my “to-go” cup. There are 3 cup sizes to choose from: 6oz, 8oz, and 10oz.
I get a freshly brewed cup of coffee each time! I put the Keurig to the test last week when I had company over. Typically I would make two pots of coffee, and only a cup or two of the second pot would be used. Each person had different coffee preferences. Some people wanted a light roast, while others preferred a dark. Two people opted for decaf. What was I most impressed about? Well, two things. For one, NO coffee was wasted. Two, everyone got what they wanted! Each cup took less than a minute to brew – so people weren’t waiting too long in between brewing to get their own coffee.

Personally, I wanted a Keurig for Christmas this past year. I guess I didn’t express to hubby just how much I wanted one because Santa never brought it. If you are unsure of what to get the coffee drinker in your life for the holidays, consider a Keurig Coffee Maker. The Keurig also makes a great housewarming present, or a present for the newly married couple!
You can connect with Keurig on Facebook!
Christmas is coming a little early this year because Keurig is giving away the Special Edition Brewing System for one lucky reader!
