Tis the season for baking! I bake all year long, but there is something so magical about baking holiday cookies with my toddler that makes the season a little warmer and sweeter. Greek holiday cookies are the norm around here, but since my toddler loves festive colors and fun characters, we use a standard butter cookie recipe that is suitable for cookie cutters. We have a huge assortment of cookie cutters and my toddler didn’t want to stick to just holiday shapes, so we got a little creative and make a few bunny and kitten cookies. I figured that anything decorated in green and red sprinkles would look like Christmas cookies anyway, right?
So we made and chilled our dough, then it was time to bake! It turned into an all day thing, and when we we done, my toddler told me she wanted to give them to her grandparents. That sounded like a great idea, because in all honesty, my waistline didn’t want 100 cookies sitting on my counter.
When it comes to gifting sweets, I personally think it’s all about the presentation. Not only do the treats have to look good and taste good, but they should also be presented in a way that makes them look extra special. We used Martha Stewart treat boxes which made the cookies look like they were fresh from a bakery. The festive boxes were easy to assemble and perfect for gifting sweet treats!
How great do these boxes look!? I love that they even come with labels that you can personalize! Martha Stewart even has bread boxes that you can actually bake in! These will be so convenient on Christmas morning when I make fresh bread to take to my mother in laws house!
