It’s time to start thinking about what you will be packing your little ones for lunch! I guess we live in an era of over achieving parents with Pinterest at their disposal, but the new trend in school lunches is not what your mama packed for you growing up. I love the idea of bento style lunches since it gives kids a taste for a little bit of everything in a fun presentation that will make them want to try new things, or at least I hope that’s what it will do. I’m not very creative, but the bento lunch boxes make it easy to separate portions and add things like silicone baking cups in various shapes to give your kids something to look forward to in their lunch boxes.
I was checking out some interesting recipes from Weelicious Lunches by Catherine McCord and had my kindergardener pick out some items she would like to see in her lunch box this school year. Along with some new flavors and recipes we will be trying out, an old favorite will make its way back into our healthy school lunches as well. Mini Babybel has been a favorite in our family for years and we love that it is 100% natural cheese. The best part is that it is in an all-wax casing, so you don’t have to worry about BPA leaching on your cheese. With 5-6 grams of protein and up to 20% of your daily calcium needs, Mini Babybel is a great choice for a lunchbox snack. I love their latest variety- mozzarella, which is a milder flavor compared to their original variety.
Babybel is a great choice for everyone in the family, and the kids love unwrapping their little red wheels to reveal a nutritious snack inside. Check out Babybel’s product locator to find a store near you that carries Babybel products.
What are some of your favorite things to put in your child’s lunchbox?
My family loves these. They are a great snack to pack in lunches.
