Have you ever seen a baby feed themselves? Their coordination is completely off as they are getting use to the feel of the utensil in their hands and trying to grasp the concept of keeping the food on the spoon or fork. It is quite comical for people watching, but can quickly turn frustrating for the child. With my own baby I notice that she needed utensils that were thicker than the normal forks and spoons I had in my kitchen. She also needed something short enough to fit in her hand. After trying a few different toddler feeding sets, she gave up on spoons and forks altogether and chose to just eat with her hands. I can’t really blame her, eating with your hands can be much more efficient! She is 2 1/2 now and although she has gotten much better feeding herself, she is still a little clumsy and has a hard time holding eating utensils.
The mOmma Developmental Meal Set is a great set for babies that are just beginning to feed themselves. Even before your baby reaches for a spoon, you can use the warm plate to separate foods in two compartments. The soft tip spoon is great for teething babies, around 4 months. Once your baby is over 6 months you can start using the fork which isn’t quite as soft as the spoon, to enable the prongs to pick up food. Both, the fork and spoon, have been created with a wide base so that chubby little hands can grasp it themselves and learn to self feed.
The mOmma Developmental Meal Set is sold in a perfect box that contains everything you need once baby is starting to eat foods (minus the foods of course!) They come perfectly packaged in a gift set that makes an excellent present for the new or expecting mom in your life! Their other products are just as uniquely designed and have a modern flair.
