My hubby and I have been reading to our little girl from the time she was a few weeks old. We started to notice she had a preference for certain books by the time she was about 9 months old. She was engaged with some and totally uninterested with others. I found that she loved the simple books with the colorful graphics and even started pointing out things she remembers from the time she was about a year old.
When I received a copy of The Night Night book to review, she took it out of my hands and told me to sit and read. Yes, she is quite demanding, but her request to read this book actually impressed me. I read through it once and she turned it over and said “Again!” I read it about another 8 times for her and she sat quietly and pointed out pictures of the flowers and the animals on each page.
I think she loved the rhythmic words and the colorful pages in the book. It is a winner in for her, which makes it a winner for us too! After all, it is written for children so it should appeal to children. I would compare The Night Night Book to Goodnight Moon. I would recommend it for any children’s bookshelf addition. The Night Night book is a great way to end the evening with my little girl!
